LUCIE BENNETT | NEW NEON WORK CREATED FOR LONDON EVENT

January 7th 2015
Lucie Bennett has created a neon piece for ‘Lights On! Streatham’, a project set up to promote local businesses along South London’s Streatham High Road - often referred to as ‘the longest high street in Europe.

A number of artists were asked to make light-based works for the event to illuminate the area after nightfall during the winter months. As a local resident, Lucie was keen to take part in order to support her local community.

On the opening night, MP Chuka Umunna revealed the address of the businesses that would be involved, and Homeland actor and local David Harewood switched all the pieces on.

Lucie’s fantastic Romy In Lights has been carefully constructed in shocking pink neon bulbs mounted onto Perspex and measures 110 x 75 cm. It can be seen lighting up the window of The Remedie Rooms, a beauty salon at no.6 near to Streatham Hill rail station, until mid-January.

Romy In Lights is available to buy online from today for £6000.00. See the piece in more detail here.

Danish artist Henrik Simonsen is well known for his abstract and colourful work of the natural elements. Often inspired by childhood memories, sketches done over several years and from travelling around the world, Simonsen creates intriguing landscapes which fascinates collectors all over the world. This week we visited Simonsen in his studio in Kreuzberg, the very creative part of the former East Berlin and today known as a hotspot for artists. On a warm and partly sunny summer day our conversation covered Simonsen’s passion for his art, life philosophies and the importance of having a long perspective.

DO YOU OWN A DAMIEN HIRST PRINT EDITION YOU WISH TO SELL?
Valium
With two major exhibitions during the Venice Biennale, 2017 was a year which increased the awareness of Damien Hirst. With Hirst still actively releasing new print editions, many collectors focus on his earlier work from 2000 and before, such as Valium, Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD), Opium, Beautiful, Galactic, Exploding Screenprint (Spin) and Painting-by-Numbers.

If you have one of the above prints that you are potentially interested in selling, please do get in touch with us via the Contact page, which you can find here.
