Gambling Skull is Eyestorm’s sixth screenprint edition with Chinese artist Jacky Tsai and quite a piece it is. The second in an on-going series of over-sized playing cards by the artist - the first being the spectacular ‘Poker Skull’ released last year - Gambling Skull sees Jacky take imagery from the Chinese gambling world to create his latest skull, a symbol he has become renowned for and has developed over the years since he created the well-known ‘floral skull’ image for the Alexander McQueen fashion label in 2008.

New this week we have original drawings by Stephanie Homa. There’s something very endearing about Stephanie Homa’s small-scale works on paper. Playful and child-like, they represent an honest style of working that we can all relate to, whether it reminds of us how we used to draw when we were children, or how our own children depict their view of the world.

Award-winning painter and printmaker Marcelle Hanselaar has been busy preparing for her most recent solo show, which opens at the Millennium Gallery in St Ives next week. A prolific artist with several prints in the British Museum and V&A collections, Marcelle currently has her distinctive, often quite controversial works exhibited in Brussels alongside pieces by Louise Bourgeois and Francis Bacon.

Our very own Jacky Tsai, has been invited, along with over 260 other world-renowned artists, designers and architects including Jeff Koons, Tracey Emin, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Zaha Hadid, to create a large-scale sculpture in the shape of an egg for the Fabergé Big Egg Hunt, an interactive public art display designed to raise awareness and funds for Elephant Family and Studio in a School, a program that brings visual arts to New York City’s public schools.

One of our most prolific and hard-working artists, Carne Griffiths always has work in an exhibition or a project on the go, and the latest location is at Ashdown Gallery in Forest Row, Sussex, where he has a couple of pieces included in a group show until Saturday 26th April, 2014.
