COLLECTIONS
Trailblazing the creative sphere, Charles Saatchi’s passion for art made an immense impact on the British art scene in the 80’s and 90’s; notably supporting a group of graduates later known as the ‘Young British Artists’. Saatchi’s private collection went on public display in the mid-eighties in an old paint factory in north London, but it was ‘Sensation’ at the Royal Academy of Arts in ’97 – an exhibition showcasing his love of the YBAs - that his position as Britain’s top collector was established once and for all.
The Saatchi Gallery has been a registered charity since 2019.
