Andrew Curtis’ subject for his work is the environment around him, the places he lives in and the space he travels through; landscapes, architecture and interiors that reference each other through structure, colour and sequence. Photography, drawing, bookmaking, painting, printing are made to overlap, feed each other and produce physical and conceptual results beyond their individual capability. The works shown here document snapshots of Britain’s landscape that often go unnoticed. Whether the image features a disused rollercoaster or a single bird flying in an empty sky, there is almost always an element of peaceful solitude in Curtis’s work.
