
Eyestorm artist Ed Thompson’s compelling piece Bob Scraggs Buying the Rifle He Last Used in Vietnam, 2006 has recently been selected as one of 30 merit finalists in the 2008 Fuji Film Distinction Awards.
Launched in September 2002, the Distinctions Awards have had nearly 30,000 images submitted over the 6 years, making it one of the most prestigious professional photographic awards in the UK. Entry to Distinctions is free and is open to any professional photographer based in the UK. Entries to the 2009 Distinctions Awards can be submitted from 1 March 2009.
Last year’s first prize went to David Brunetti, Michael Bodiam was named runner-up and Sarah Turton picked up third place. An exhibition of all 30 Merit Winner images will take place at Bayeux, 78 Newman Street, London, W1 until 20 March 2009. Opening times are 8.30am - 7pm Monday to Friday.
